Social Butterfly is a social achievement in Heartopia that requires befriending 10 NPCs to maximum friendship level. Heartopia features a rich cast of characters with unique personalities, storylines, and gift preferences. Building deep friendships unlocks special dialogue, unique rewards, and access to exclusive content that enriches the overall game experience.

Friendship in Heartopia increases through daily conversations, gift-giving, completing NPC-specific quests, and participating in town events. Each NPC has preferred gifts that boost friendship gain significantly, as well as disliked gifts that should be avoided. Reaching maximum friendship level with a single NPC requires consistent daily interaction over an extended period. With many NPCs available across different town districts and regions, players have plenty of choices for which friendships to prioritize.

For efficient friendship building, learn each NPC's favorite gifts early and stockpile them. Complete Daily Requests from NPCs whenever possible, as these provide friendship bonuses on top of Gold and Contribution Medal rewards. Attending seasonal events and festivals where NPCs gather also provides bonus friendship opportunities. Social Butterfly connects to the broader social system and pairs well with the Town Gossip quest type. It is also a prerequisite for unlocking certain hidden quests and NPC-exclusive story content.
