Gold is the primary free currency in Heartopia, functioning as the backbone of the entire in-game economy. Every player earns Gold by selling items to Albert Jr., the roaming gold merchant, and spends it on seeds, recipes, furniture, clothing, pet adoption fees, and vehicle purchases. The flow of Gold touches every hobby and activity in the game, making efficient Gold generation one of the most important skills for both new and experienced players.
Earning Gold
The most reliable Gold sources include selling cooked dishes (Phoenix Feast tops the chart at 3,000G base), fishing for rare species during Rainbow weather (5-star Bluefin Tuna sells for 4,250G), and crop farming (Avocado at 540G base, Corn at 510G). Daily requests also award Gold alongside Contribution Medals. The key to maximizing Gold income is building efficient production chains: growing crops, fishing for ingredients, cooking high-tier recipes, and selling everything through Albert Jr.
Gold is spent across nearly every system in Heartopia. Seeds from Blanc range from 10G to 180G, motorcycle vehicles cost 80,000G, pet adoptions are 500G each, and furniture from Bob can cost thousands. Managing your Gold income against your spending needs is a constant balancing act, especially in the mid-game when multiple upgrade paths compete for resources. Veterans recommend prioritizing Gold-generating investments like cooking recipe unlocks early, as they pay for themselves many times over through consistent recipe crafting and selling.
