Contribution Medals are the primary progression currency in Heartopia, used exclusively to advance through the Developer's Guild (D.G.) level system. Unlike Gold, which drives the economy, Contribution Medals gate access to new hobbies, home plots, game features, and content unlocks. The D.G. system is the central progression framework of the entire game, making medal acquisition the most important daily priority for players at every stage.
Earning Medals
The primary source of Contribution Medals is completing daily requests at the Town Hall bulletin board, overseen by Mayor Atara. Five requests are available each day, each awarding 10 medals for a maximum of 50 medals per day. Weekly tasks and story quests also award medals but in smaller quantities. This daily cap means progression through D.G. levels is inherently time-gated, encouraging consistent daily play rather than marathon sessions.
Because the daily medal cap is fixed at 50, every missed day represents lost progression that cannot be recovered. Experienced players prioritize completing all five daily requests before any other activity, as the compounding effect of consistent medal collection significantly accelerates D.G. advancement. Each D.G. level requires an increasing number of medals, with the jump from Level 1 to Level 20 spanning hundreds of accumulated days of dedicated play.
