Fish Observation

The Fish Observation collection tracks all fish species caught by the player across Heartopia's 14 fishing zones. With 94 or more species to discover, this is one of the largest collections in the game. Each new fish caught adds an entry with details about the species, its habitat, and the conditions under which it was found. The collection serves as both a progress tracker and a reference guide for the Fishing hobby.

The Fish Observation collection follows the standard four-tier badge system. Beginner tier is awarded at 200 points, Junior at 1,000 points, Senior at 4,000 points, and Expert at 8,000 points. Each new species registered earns points, with rarer species contributing more points than common ones. Reaching Expert tier requires catching the vast majority of available species, including rare fish that spawn only under specific weather, time, and seasonal conditions.

For efficient collection completion, fish in every zone during different times of day and weather conditions. Use the collection log to identify which species you are missing and research their spawn requirements. Upgrading your fishing rod and using high-quality bait improves your chances of hooking rare species. The Fish Observation collection ties directly to the Novice Angler, Expert Angler, and Master Angler achievements. It also connects to the NPC Vanya, who serves as the fishing mentor. Reaching Expert tier is required for the Collector Extraordinaire achievement.
