Gardening is the second hobby unlocked in Heartopia, becoming available automatically at D.G. Level 2 when you meet Blanc at her shop in the Flower Field. This hobby transforms your home plots into productive farms and beautiful gardens, combining the satisfaction of real-time crop growth with the creativity of flower hybridization. With 13 crops and 13 flower species to cultivate, gardening offers both reliable income and deep collection-completion challenges.

Crop Farming

Crops grow in real time, with growth periods ranging from 15 minutes (Tomato) to 48 hours (Avocado). Seeds are purchased exclusively from Blanc, and each crop has a specific gardening level requirement. The economics of crop farming reward both quick harvests and patient investment. Tomatoes offer fast 15-minute turnarounds at 3x profit (10G seed, 30G sell), while Avocado provides the highest single-harvest value (180G seed, 540G base sell) for those willing to wait two full days. Crops are harvested at 1 to 5-star quality, and higher-star crops sell for significantly more and produce better results when used in cooking recipes.

Flower Hybridization

The flower system adds a layer of creative experimentation to gardening. Each flower species comes in three base colors (Red, White, Yellow) and can be crossbred to produce hybrid colors like Pink, Orange, Cream, Blue, Black, and the ultra-rare Glowing Blue. The hybrid breeding system follows specific crossing rules, and discovering all possible color combinations is one of Heartopia's most satisfying long-term goals. Flowers are used in recipes like Daisy Tea and Rose Tea, and rare hybrids are highly valued as NPC gifts.
