Cooking is one of three choice hobbies available starting at D.G. Level 5, requiring a Hobby Expansion Ticket to unlock. Taught by the passionate chef Massimo at his cafe in Central Town, cooking transforms raw ingredients into dishes that restore energy, sell for impressive Gold values, and serve as powerful NPC gifts. With 98 recipes spanning 12 cooking levels and 5 dish categories, this hobby offers one of the longest and most rewarding progression paths in the game.

Recipe System

Recipes are organized into five categories: Main Dish, Dessert, Drink, Soup, and Side Dish. Most recipes are unlocked by purchasing them from Massimo as you level up, though some require special methods. Doris, the secret weather vendor who only appears during rain or rainbow conditions, sells exclusive Roll Cake recipes for 50 Wishing Stars. A few recipes are unlocked through quest rewards, and the variant system allows base recipes to produce specialized versions when specific ingredients are used (for example, Mixed Jam becomes Apple Jam when crafted with four Apples).

Profit Potential

Cooking is the single most profitable activity in Heartopia for dedicated players. The Phoenix Feast, unlocked at Cooking Level 12, sells for an astounding 3,000G at base quality and 5,400G at 5-star. Even mid-tier recipes like Beef Wellington (900G), Truffle Risotto (950G), and Wagyu Steak (1,100G) generate substantial income. The key to cooking profits is sourcing ingredients efficiently: growing your own crops, fishing for specific species, and foraging mushrooms and fruits creates a self-sustaining production chain.

Every cooked dish also restores energy, making cooking essential for sustaining long gameplay sessions. Higher-tier recipes restore more energy, and the 5-star quality bonus applies to both sell price and energy restoration.
