Personality Trait
Clingy
Pet stays closer to the player and follows more reliably.
Clingy is a personality trait that causes a pet to follow the player much more closely than usual, rarely straying far from your side. A Clingy cat or dog acts as a constant companion within your Home Area, shadowing your movements and staying nearby whenever you stop. This trait is popular among players who want their pets to feel like loyal sidekicks.
The practical effect of the Clingy trait is that your pet maintains a shorter maximum distance from your character, making it easier to interact with them for bond-building activities. Clingy pets also tend to display more affectionate animations, nuzzling up to the player and showing visible displeasure when you move too far away.
Clingy pairs particularly well with the Chatterbox trait for a pet that is both vocal and ever-present, or with the Sociable trait for a pet that is friendly to both you and other players' pets. It contrasts directly with the Lone Wolf and Unsociable traits, which encourage independence rather than attachment.
