The Tulip is a beloved spring flower in Heartopia that unlocks at Gardening Level 8. Tulips are iconic for their clean, cup-shaped blooms and wide color range, making them one of the most recognizable flowers in the game. Reaching Level 8 in Gardening opens up this rewarding species with four hybrid color possibilities, including the dramatic Black variant.

Growth Time and Base Colors

Tulips require 14 hours to grow from planting to harvest. They come in Red, White, and Yellow base colors, with seeds available from Blanc in the Flower Field. The 14-hour growth cycle is slightly longer than a standard overnight window, so plan your planting to account for the extra time. Planting mid-morning for a late-evening harvest is one effective strategy.

Hybrid Colors and Breeding Tips

Tulips can produce four hybrid colors: Pink, Orange, Black, and Cream. The Black Tulip is the standout variant here, joining the Calla Lily and Rose as one of the few flowers capable of producing Black hybrids. Black Tulips are highly sought after for their striking appearance and rarity. Cross-breed aggressively with multiple pairs running simultaneously to maximize your chances of producing Black specimens. Keep track of which parent combinations yield the best results.

Display and Strategy

Tulips are not used in any cooking recipes, so their value is purely decorative and collectible. A display of Black Tulips is one of the most impressive decorations you can create in Heartopia. Combine them with Black Calla Lilies for a dramatic dark-themed floral arrangement. As you approach Level 10 and the Hybrid Breeding skill, the experience you gain from breeding Tulips will serve you well when tackling the more complex hybrid possibilities of Roses and higher-level flowers.
