Mrs. Joan

Mrs. Joan is the pet care mentor, a warmhearted animal lover who runs the pet adoption center on Garden Street. She teaches both the Cat Care and Dog Care hobbies, which unlock simultaneously at D.G. Level 12. Her gentle nature and genuine care for animals make her one of Heartopia's most endearing NPCs, and the adoption center she oversees is the sole source for bringing pets into your Home Area.

Pet Adoption

All pet adoptions go through Mrs. Joan at a flat rate of 500G per animal. She maintains a roster of 14 cat breeds and 11 dog breeds, each with randomized personality traits assigned at adoption. Mrs. Joan provides guidance on pet care, feeding schedules, and bond-building techniques. She also sells pet-related supplies and treats that support the daily care routines necessary for maximizing bond levels.

Mrs. Joan loves receiving Pet Treats, Rare Pet Items, Animal Photos, Yarn Balls, and Seafood Bouquets. She dislikes Trash and Scary Items, which fits her nurturing personality. Available from approximately 8AM to 8PM, she is accessible for most of the in-game day. Players who build strong friendship with Mrs. Joan may receive tips on optimal pet trait combinations and care strategies.
