Cat Care

Cat Care unlocks at D.G. Level 12 alongside Dog Care, both taught by the warmhearted Mrs. Joan at her pet adoption center. This hobby lets players adopt and raise cats from a roster of 14 distinct breeds, each with unique coat patterns and randomly assigned personality traits. Cats become companions that roam your Home Area, interact with the environment, and develop deeper bonds over time through daily care and attention.

Breeds and Traits

Heartopia features 14 cat breeds: Siamese, Blue Cat, Black Cat, White Cat, Raccoon Cat, Silver Tabby, Orange Tabby, Brown Tabby, Calico, Piebald Cat, Panda Cat, Golden Spotted Cat, Tortoiseshell Cat, and Tuxedo Cat. Each adopted cat receives 2 random personality traits from a pool of 11 possibilities, including Chatterbox, Clingy, Energetic, Indifferent, Quiet, Sensitive, Slow, Sociable, Unsociable, Lone Wolf, and Naughty. These traits affect how the cat behaves: a Chatterbox cat vocalizes frequently, while a Clingy cat follows you closely around your home.

Bond Building

Building bond with your cats is the core progression mechanic of Cat Care. Daily interactions like feeding, petting, and playing increase bond levels up to a maximum of 10. Higher bond levels unlock new interactions and behaviors, deepening the relationship between player and pet. Cats also provide ambient life to your Home Area, napping on furniture, chasing butterflies, and generally being adorable.

Completing the Kitty Time collection by adopting and bonding with all 14 breeds is a significant achievement. Since each adoption costs 500G and traits are randomized, players often adopt multiple cats of the same breed to find desirable trait combinations. The combination of collectibility, daily care routines, and the sheer charm of having cats roam your home makes Cat Care one of Heartopia's most beloved hobbies.
