First Catch

First Catch is the very first fishing achievement in Heartopia, awarded immediately upon catching your first fish. This achievement marks the beginning of a player's journey into the Fishing hobby and serves as a tutorial milestone that confirms the basic fishing mechanic has been understood. It is one of the earliest achievements any player can earn in the game.

The Fishing hobby becomes available at D.G. Level 1, and the Learn to Fish quest guides players to Vanya's fishing spot for their first catch. The mechanics are simple: approach a fishing spot, cast your line, and wait for a bite. When the bobber dips, press the action button to reel in your catch. Even the most common fish will trigger this achievement, so there is no need to worry about bait quality or location for this particular milestone.

First Catch is the gateway to the entire fishing progression chain, which continues through Novice Angler (10 species), Expert Angler (50 species), and Master Angler (all species). It also begins contributing to the Fish Observation collection. For new players, earning First Catch early is recommended since fishing provides both a relaxing gameplay loop and a reliable source of Gold income. The fish you catch can be sold, cooked into recipes, or gifted to NPCs who enjoy them.
